Emergency disaster response is all about being ready to deal with whatever comes your way. One thing you may want to do is research the history of natural disasters that have occurred in your general area over the last hundred or so years. Then research the right kind of response to those specific disasters. Your 72 hour emergency kits should be predicated on those specific types of disasters. However, there are some basic items every kit should have regardless of the disaster profile in your area. And, those kits should be checked and rechecked every six months or so to keep them updated and viable.
